Guidance

The Counseling Department at SBCA helps students with their academic and social/emotional growth. We value working together with parents, teachers, school leaders, and staff to make sure your child gets the help they need to succeed during these years and reach their fullest potential.

Some of the programs we offer to achieve this are:

  • Individual Counseling Students will come to the counseling office individually as needed through student, family, or teacher referral.

  • Group Counseling Students will engage with peers in a small group setting to address social/emotional and behavioral needs.

  • Classroom Counseling Lessons as needed in the areas of social, emotional, and academic development. Examples of units include areas such as feelings identification, problem-solving, coping skills, kindness, diversity, growth mindset, and mindfulness.

Consult and Collaborate with teachers and staff regarding emotional and behavioral support for students in the classroom and school-wide.
